Toronto StaffAcross Canada teachers are embracing the methodology and professional support that Facing History provides and integrating our program into their classrooms. In partnership with the Toronto District School Board, Facing History developed a Grade 11 course called Genocide and Crimes Against Humanity. The course was approved by the Ontario Ministry of Education and now more than 500 students in 22 schools are taking the course. Additional school boards will implement the course over the next two years, includ¬ing Hastings Prince Edward County, Waterloo Region and Hamilton-Wentworth District School Boards.

Since the inception of Facing History’s work in Ontario in 1981, we’ve offered workshops for the former Toronto Board of Education, Thames Valley District School Board, Kitchener-Waterloo (both Catholic and public school boards), Kawartha Pine Ridge School Board, and Hastings Prince Edward District School Board. In addition, we’ve done extensive work with faculties of education at York University, Ontario Institute of Studies in Education-University of Toronto, and Althouse College-University of Western Ontario.
